ShareChat sets asides advertising credits of Rs 5 crore to promote Aarogya Setu app

Twitter backed ShareChat has announced that it will promote government’s Covid-19 contact tracing app Aarogya Setu by setting aside advertising credits of Rs. 5 crore.

Over the next few days, ShareChat will extensively promote the Aaragya Setu application across its 60+ million active users in 15 different languages and help surface details about the app to users of the platform, the company said.

Berges Y Malu, Director – Public Policy, ShareChat said, “As an Indian start-up, we are proud to be a part of this important outreach campaign for the Aarogya Setu app.” Malu added that the company commends the effort towards rapidly building a platform that offers information regarding symptoms, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19.

The government has been reaching to various public and private companies to promote the application which alerts users if they are at risk of coming in contact with Covid-19 positive person.
