About The Book (Blurb) : Would you give up your high-paying job and comfortable personal life to drive ten thousand kilometres across India? Just for fun!Three twenty-something’s dare to do just that! While the two boys take turns to drive, the girl gives voice-over as they record their entire journey on a handy cam.
Ab, Sasha and Unnati are ordinary youngsters, rendered special by the feat they accomplish. As they recount their adventures, I crave to live their journey. They look at each other with a glint in their eyes, as if refurbishing those memories while narrating their spooky time at Bhangarh Fort, strange escapades at Wagah Border and Sundarbans, car breakdowns, wild animals, near-death experiences and highway robbers! It’s nothing less than crazy.
I doubted if I’d ever have the gumption to create such experiences. So I did the next best thing – I penned a book about them and their road trip.
Colorful Notions is a journey of three young hearts on the Indian terrain and into the inner recesses of their souls, giving a new perspective to relationships, love and life.

My Say : Being a die hard fan of those food and travel shows, This book grabbed my attention instantly. I was super excited to read about the experiences of the characters of this book. ‘Colourful Notions : The Roadtrippers 1.0’ is about the road trip of three friends. This is a fiction story where three friends – Abhay, Sasha and Unnati go on a road trip for 75 days covering entire India and what happens while they were on journey is the whole story. The story talks about their journey, the fun moments, the adventurous escapades, the gloomy times and how it helps them in finding more about themselves.
I loved the chacacterisation as it seemed that any person can easily connect with it. The chapter names are quite interesting. Each incident contributes evenly to the book. The itinerary  is well planned which shows an immense research done by the Author. I finished reading this book in one go because of the simple language.
I hated few things which I couldn’t ignore. First of all I was just looking for a good reason behind this road trip, A concrete one but I was left disappointed. Use of words like ‘Yaar, bhai, Coochie, some SMS lingos and few typos were biggest turn off for me. I just wished that Author never used such words in this book. Also the description about the places which the road trippers visit is very less and I ended up craving for more.
Overall it was an average read. I recommend this book if you want to read something based on road trip and if you are looking for a light read up.
