My Say : Have you ever found yourself glued to a book from the beginning to the end, biting your nails, getting shocked scene by scene, wanting to end the book as early as possible just to know the whole suspense? Yes!! This book gave me such kind of dramatic experience! Though I am not a huge fan of political read ups still I loved this book to the core. This book is the perfect blend of mystery and politics. It grabbed my attention from the first page and I found myself turning the pages until I came to know the end. I went through so many emotions while reading this book: I laughed, I cried happy tears, got angry and sometimes just wanted to scream at the characters of the book. There were many moments when I caught myself telling the FBI agent, Jade Harrington, to look at the other areas for clues and then I found myself completely wrong. I loved the twist at the end and still left wanting for more. Jade is a character, I enjoyed reading about and wanted to know more about. She is strong yet quite vulnerable and is a character that most females can relate to. A captivating story line along with sharp writing made this book impossible to put down. I enjoyed how the author combined the political, legal and entertainment aspects of the story into one story line that was easy to believe and digest. I also liked how the author changed from third-person telling of the story to the first-person in the killer’s chapters. I also loved how the political story line seemed as if it was snatched from today’s headlines. This really added a layer of genuineness to the story and made it seem real.
I loved the fact that the author kept me guessing until the end as to who the killer was. I have to admit that I was shocked when the killer was revealed. It was a jaw dropping moment for me. This just made me love the book even more and also the author’s ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and guessing from the beginning to end.
I hope J.L.Brown is spending every moment on writing the sequel because after finishing this book I was just wondering what her characters are doing now.
To my readers, If you really enjoy reading political thrillers then I recommend this book for your next read up.
